The following is a question from a Cleanfax subscriber. When I do - TopicsExpress

The following is a question from a Cleanfax subscriber. When I do odor control jobs, some customers ask me to apply a deodorizer after cleaning but that rarely does the job. What can I tell them? — Victor, Grand Rapids, MI To do the job right, you have to remove the source and apply a deodorizer to the affected areas. But that takes time, and time is money. Most people think it is simple to remove odors, because professional cleaners have professional products. It’s not that easy. If you properly do the job, which you wish to do, it can take a couple of hours over a few visits to remove the odor. You might have to disengage the carpet, cut and replace the padding, clean the subfloor or seal it, clean both top and back of the carpet, and apply deodorizers. None of this is quick work, compared to simply cleaning and spraying a deodorizer on the pile. Education is a must. You might take a piece of carpet with padding underneath to customers who need odor control services and demonstrate exactly what happens when “Fido” does his business. The odor isn’t just in the carpet. You have to get to the "source" and kill it there. Jeff Cross, editor of CleanFax
