The following map of what Africa would look like had European invasion and colonization not occurred is probably better than what we currently have. However, I challenge the notion of replacing the name Africa with the name Alkebu-lan. The latter name is of Arabic origin unquestionably, whereas there is doubt as to the origin of Africa. The author claims that Alkebu-lan is of indigenous origin, however Arabic is not an indigenous language of blacks/Africans. It is indigenous of Arab culture, which has been destructive toward traditional African culture and spiritual beliefs to this very day! Whichever of my brothers and sisters that find strength in this alternative perspective by replacing Africa with an Arab name, just know that I would not vote in agreement. Although Arabs are not our enemies, Arab cultural nationalism is. Followers of a particular religious sect always tend to promote the culture of the authors of that religion. Islam promotes Arab culture. Modern Christianity promotes European culture and Zionism, Judaism promotes Zionism. If you are a black person that loves yourself, you might want to consider a belief system that promotes who and what you are. What is positive about this map is the Southern facing direction as was recognized by all civilized nations as the correct polarization of the world prior to Europe. Also it recognizes many of the indigenous names of the African nations, however, where the author was unsure, imaginations of Arab sultanates were penned in. For those who reject Africa, try accepting a far more ancient name which can be found in use by the Kemetu, Nubians, Ethiopians, Bantu, and Niger-Congo peoples... KUSH! It is a name that not only represents our geographical continent, it also represents our nation as a unified continent and diaspora spanning from Africa to India, Melanysia, and Australia. It also represents our blackness as a people. I wrote this piece as a voice in our democracy. Our nationalism can not be one of bullyism, where one groups boister is enough to intimidate other voices that may speak truth. I vote for Kush...
