The heart of man is desperately wicked and deceitful above all things. Who can know it? (Jeremiah 17: 9). If you are shocked when people unjustly treat you, gossip about you, maligned you, judge you, subject you to unfair and unwarranted treatment, create a public lie about you and attempt to destroy you, your reputation, and your livelihood you have not been paying attention in Bible class. Or perhaps you are not attending the right Bible class. The Word of God teaches us that the hearts, or souls, of mankind can harbor bitter hatred, evil wicked lustful desire, malice and the drive to harm and destroy targeted individuals which derives from jealousy or other sins of the emotional complex. This should not shock or frighten the learned Bible student. If you maintain a relaxed mental attitude through the protocol of the unique spiritual life of the church age believer and reside in the plan of God by faith rest and the power of God, you will be protected and advance in the plan of God for your life. This is part of the concept of suffering for blessing. Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God and He will exalt you in due time. (1st Peter 5:6)
