The highs and lows of a Playcentre. This week i learned a few things. From leaving for a week and returning Wednesday, I learned (once again) that my team is truly awesome and Im in that rarefied air of being a business owner that can leave their precious baby knowing that it will not only be managed to my satisfaction, but in every probability will be enhanced. And to the lows, we had a parent today from one of our parties that broke one of our tables in the party room and instead of owning up, chose to lean it against the wall and pretend it didnt happen (effectively voiding all the good work and effort we did to make their party a happily memorable one) And perhaps more importantly, from the perspective of a business that takes tremendous pride in enhancing the lives of kids in our community, it makes us very sad that there are now children out there that think its ok to break other peoples property and more importantly, to not have to take responsibility for their actions. And..one of my closest team members lost a very close relative yesterday and from my sadness, reminded me that shes not a staff member, shes family. And that life is very precious. Very powerful. And very short....
