The history of the New Testament worship clearly shows that only Acapella music was used. The word Acapella literally means as in done in the church. A careful study of these passages pertaining to singing in the New Testament will reveal that there is no authorization or justification for using mechanical instruments of music. In Ephesians 5:19 the instrument there on which melody is to be made to The Lord is identified as the heart. 1) and when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives. Matt 26:30 2) but at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God... Acts 16:25 3) for this reason I will confess to You among the Gentiles, and sing to your name. Romans 15:9 4)What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding. 1 Cor 14:15 5) speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to The Lord Eph 5:19 6) Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to God.
