The idea of a job for life is outdated, with average tenure across all ages and industries falling from 15 years in 1959 to just over four years today. But how do school leavers successfully map a future in an ever-changing landscape? In my experience, by selecting a path that will develop sought-after soft skills, such as problem-solving, research and cross-cultural communication.
