The idea of sunrise bringing us hope. When the Babylonians invaded Jerusalem the prophet Jeremiah said: “...Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning”. Even though they were in despair, they still had the Lord’s mercies and compassions. I recently realized that since I live on Sunrise Ridge Lane, this ought to be a reminder, every morning as I wake up and see the sun rising in the eastern sky, that ... weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning (Psalms 30:5) Sometimes our struggles seem worse at night, but when sunrise comes it brings hope again that we can continue. Amen.
