The kid was obviously an out of control bully. See the convenience store tape. The two kids were walking down the middle of the street. They do this in Albany too, to show a combination of bravado and depression, I think. The college he was about to enroll in was trade school. Fine, but he should have kept that goal in mind. Yes, reasons of discrimination may have had something to do with why Brown was a mess, but a variety of poor young men of all races have transcended those problems and gone on to make something of themselves.
