The last of my musings on the collapse of life as we knew it. Lower Manhattan was blanketed with a powdery white coating of heartache and debris. And I remember thinking how much like every other bomb sight it must be in that moment. How, in the suffering we were, indeed globally knit together. But still, the idols of our wealth, the reasons for the target, showed: a red porshe with the glass shattered. Could we see our privilege through our grief? The way wed weaponized it? And prayer was all that seemed left. For everyone. Evident in the silence of the ubiquitous car horns of New York, never as loud again, I think....
