The latest from the ABA Labor & Employment Meeting in New Orleans -- Newly sworn in NLRB General Counsel Dick Griffin said this morning that he will continue to provide compliance guidance to employers through Advice Memoranda, continuing the practice of outgoing Acting GC Solomon. Griffin is very sympathetic to the notion of providing a template for employers that would provide a safe harbor. Griffin was not shy to express his points of view, and stated if companies are revising employee handbooks to comply with federal law, thats a good thing.
