The media is afraid to refer to ISIS as terrorists. In a NYT Op-Ed, Israel is called “racist” and “extremist”, terms used to describe ISIS, thus comparing a civilized, progressive country to a radical cult that senselessly beheads non-believers and murders women and children. The double standard against Israel is also seen in media coverage of U.S. airstrikes on ISIS. Over the summer, during Operation Protective Edge, there was article upon article concerning Israel bombing Gazan population centers.
