“The news is not good, more rainfall is predicated for June 22 [Saturday]. Scientists have found that if the rainfall exceeds 144 mm in a day, the likelihood of landslides increase unexpectedly in Nepal. The June 22 forecast shows rains will exceed the range of 200 mm. So, more landslides should be expected,” he explained. Here are NASA’s Tropical Rainfall Monitoring Mission’s helpful maps to give us a better sense the forecast. Note the heavy Orange and Yellow, and Purple spots on the Map, indicating rain of 150 mm or more on Saturday.
