The next step When you watch someone climbing a mountain, you hold your breath wondering if they will make it. Each step is deliberate and for some parts of their climb, the rock-face is so steep that their feet hang as they use their hands to go further. However for that rock climber, they do not see what they have left behind, but only the goal ahead. They take each step deliberately, fully focused on each one. In the same way, I encourage you to look forward at the goal that is ahead of you today. Just like that rock climber, the task might often seem so huge. However if you focus on what is ahead of you and trust me to show you where to take each step, you will reach this mountain top. For strength is not enough to reach your goal my child. What you also need is my wisdom. You need to have the kind of focus that makes sure that you take the right step at the right time. This wisdom can only come from me and I have it here for you. I do not hold anything back and all you need to do is come and ask me for it. Look at your goal and then ask me for the wisdom to attain it. Then allow me to show you each step that you must take. When that rock climber scales a cliff he has never faced before, he does not know what will lie ahead. He can only plan a few moves at a time. He cannot plan the entire journey. In the same way, you must trust that I see the way ahead of you and that I am sending you in the right direction. You must trust that I will not allow your foot to slip and that each direction I have given is for your own good and safety. So will you trust me this day my child? Will you trust me to show you the next step in your journey? At the end of it is the goal that you have been looking for, but to reach it, you need to focus on that goal and you need my help to reach it. Together we will overcome this mountain and be victorious. Together we will do what you thought was impossible before. Only stick close to me and watch now as I show you the next step you need to take says the Lord. Amen
