The only reason we need government at all is because people are mean. The problem is, you cant MAKE people be nice. All you can do with a law is say if this, then that. Thats all. If you commit this crime, then you get this penalty. If you perform this service, then you get this incentive. A necessary component of this is knowing that it happened. More and more, the problem with our legal system isnt that we dont have laws against shit, but that its a massive pain in the arse trying to demonstrate beyond a reasonable doubt that they happened. And thats why privacy is gradually disappearing.
