The other day I interviewed a man I have the greatest respect for professionally, in fact I have interviewed many in his profession and ended the interview thinking Lord help your clients . On that day, after the interview, I was having a conversation with a colleague ( who I also respect her insight and analysis always on point) , I told her you should maybe do a follow up interview with Mr X , he had great points on the subject matter , her response yes but he is political . This man also serves as a temporary senator for a political party occasionally, but I said to her the topic I interviewed him on was on the Criminal Justice system not on his politics .. Im putting this in context the man hasn’t lost more than 4 matters in a career that spans 18 years . This post isn’t about him , or my colleague, but let me say I know very few ppl who can boast of that success as a lawyer, and even fewer will ever make a record close to it .. but this isn’t about him I need to ask if someone is affiliated with a political party do we discount them ? what about the young professionals ..if we maintain this position how do we encourage young ppl to serve any political cause ? I would love to hear your insight on this , the conversation has peaked my interest ...i wonder how we view ppl who openly support politics ...?
