The outlook into next week and beyond overall is unsettled and mild. Certainly no sign what so ever of conditions turning ....progressively colder, even very cold at times...., and no sign of ...northern blocking becoming a more dominant feature as approach the end of October and beginning of November. The early part of the week sees rain in the north west which will gradually edge south eastward through all areas and it will be mild. The middle part of the week then sees briefly more settled and cooler conditions with the risk of some overnight frost, but the latter part of the week sees unsettled and milder conditions returning, and with winds by this stage coming up from the south it may turn very mild for the time of year. No sign at the moment of ...the first snow event of the season to some much lower parts of the country... nor any ....significant snow across higher ground within this period. Unless of course you count the highest mountain peaks in Scotland, but only an idiot would boast about correctly forecasting. snow up there at this time of year.
