The past few days, I have been marveled by two stories of Muslim - TopicsExpress

The past few days, I have been marveled by two stories of Muslim converts in Singapore. And then I went for class last night where an extremely knowledgeable Ustaz was proceeding with the next verse of Surah Al-Imran, a continuation of where he stopped before this. It happened to be a verse meant for the newly converted. Yet another powerful reminder that what I have been marveled by had actually been none other than the Greatness of Allah. Ustaz shared the verse tells us the newly converted are known to be the best of people because they command what is good and they stop what is bad. They are the best of people because they are often a time striving to gain the best of greatness; kairiyah (something I wish to deepen in understanding). Ustaz then spoke about amar maruf nahi munkar, a beautiful conceptual understanding outlining the most fertile ground of unity... that we must always do things for Allah. The Greatness of Allah unfolds and is told every other minute and second of our life. Verse 110 of Surah Al-Imran summed up my past few days and shall be my study the next few days. The history and sciences underlying this beautiful beautiful verse. Bismillah. :) You are the best of the nations raised up for (the benefit of) men; you enjoin what is right and forbid the wrong and believe in Allah; and if the followers of the Book had believed it would have been better for them; of them (some) are believers and most of them are transgressors. Have a blessed Wednesday everyone. Smile.
