The pre-school sector here will see a new player entering the field this year, while changes to the Kindergarten Fee Assistance Scheme (KiFAS) will make fees more affordable. The new pre-school, set to open in July, will have mainstream and special needs children learning and playing together. It is billed as the first pre-school to have such a concept, with the aim of providing a more inclusive environment and a non-discriminatory curriculum. Meanwhile from this month, changes will be made to the Kindergarten Fee Assistance Scheme to make pre-school fees more affordable to low- and middle-income families.
