The primary purpose of government is the security and welfare of the people. No doubt, Jonathan led PDP government is overwhelmed with demonstrable inability to contain the growing insecurity. In a sane political clime, a responsible, responsive and sensitive the president ought to have tender his letter of resignation by now. It is unfortunate that our soulless president has preoccupied himself with evil schemings to get re-elected at all cost. His favourite past time now is to organize illegal rallies to receive expired politicians into his sinking party. Jonathan need to be educated that it is not how long you occupy the seat of power that matters, but how you impacted positively on the lives of the governed. The foregoing explains why the late head of state, Murtala Muhammeds short, but eventful six months reign cannot be forgotten in a hurry, it also explains why the late Awolowo is still be honoured till today. Jonathan needs to sit himself down and ponder over this: What would history and posterity say about me?
