The progressive pushers of common core play on a parents worst fear: the fear that we will fail our kids; that we are not good enough or that somehow we will let them down. They make parents feel as though we have no business directing their education because we are not educators or rich CEOS. They intimidate parents with propaganda about the elusive 21st century global economy saying that our country is failing and our kids need to compete and that we have never taught children how to think. Yet, we have the largest free market economy. We lead the globe (beating ASIA by the way) in innovation and business start up, we dominate the market with our hi tech gadgets and our universities are the envy of the world, with students traveling from abroad to attend. We ARE the global economy and have been for centuries while China is made up of factory workers and tyrannical government. YOU are in charge of their education and these elitists arent educators either - they are snake oil salesmen in suits and ties from DC. They want your tax dollars for profit and your kids for a managed economy and social change.
