The prolific director or one of the fastest and most successful - TopicsExpress

The prolific director or one of the fastest and most successful megaphones of Telugu Cinema, K. Raghavendra Rao, who has made more than hundred films is on the eve of celebrating his 50th year or Golden Jubilee in the film industry if we include the years he worked as an AD much before his debut film Babu (1975). My first meeting with him was in 2008 when the Ramanaidu Film School was founded by Suresh Productions. He just walked in a couple of weeks before the school started when we were putting all the rudiments together and immediately a warm rapport was established between us since then. Nevertheless, when I invited him to share his long experience and methods (well known for shying away from any kind publicity) he was quite reluctant. He mainly resisted it because we told him that we would wish to videograph his presentations for archival purposes. Not willing to give up, as we kept on insisting that his kind of experience and know-how should not remain unknown to the future generation of filmmamkers in Telugu Cinema, he finally yielded to spend three valuable days of his time with our students. Today morning out of the blue he called me again to tell me that at last he has decided to come out in public to share his experience, thoughts and methods on filmmaking on a television show (referred below) for the benefit of a wider audience. He added that he would like our students to closely watch it and challenge him with questions on the the narrative elements of the script, his way of blocking scenes, conceiving shots and doing everything else a director has to do. In fact, he has invited our students to interact with him on the show. Three cheers to you Sir!
