The reason Lots wife turned to a pillar of salt is because the name Lot in Hebrew means covering(veil) and covering/veil in the spiritual means spiritually blind! Wife represent Life and so the wife of Lot is same as saying the Life of Lot. The Life of Lot was the VEIL which is spiritual blindness. It was destroyed and turned into a pillar of salt because he had no more veil that covered him from seeing the Light/Truth! Interesting is that he chose to go dwell in the Cave rather than to go to Zoar. Zoar in Hebrew means Insignificance while Cave in hebrew means nakedness. Why did he chose nakedness over Insignificance? Because nakedness simply means to be restored back to the original state that God created him to live- By the Spirit and not by the Flesh which has an Insignificant life!
