The revelation of the phone message left by the NJ teenager, Rachel Canning, for her mother, is horrible. At the same time, after raising 5 non-brat daughters of our own and ministering to quite literally thousands of teens and young children, I can very confidently say the dont become brats on their own. That her parents marriage is disintegrating speaks volumes to me about the conditions that created this perfect storm of a child. Training up a child involves as much or more of what you demonstrate in your own life than what you tell them.
