The solution to affordable health care is not another inefficient government program to raise our national debt to bankruptcy levels. It rests with determining why health cost are so high and develop programs to REDUCE the cost. One major cost factor is the liability insurance cost for doctors and healthcare providers. Develop an expedient judicial system using judgement formularies based on historical cases. Empty our courtrooms and start making fair, consistent, judgments. Create caps for pain, suffering, and emotional anguish judgments. Another large cost factor is the amount of and inefficiency of US government regulations in the medical industry. You could write a dissertation on this one. I am not an expert, but it makes sense to me to find the cost drivers of health care and find ways to reduce them. Developing another inefficient government agency in the guise of providing MANDATORY affordable health insurance is laughable and makes me question the educational validity of any of our elected officials in Washington DC.
