The success of our plans is wholly dependent upon His will. We cannot bend God’s sovereign will, but with feeble knees, we can kneel before Him who has the final say regarding what we plan to do. It is only those plans that God approves that will have certain victory. Humans are contradictory and uncertain about their decisions, but God is absolute and sure about His direction. Our many heartfelt options and human strategies may come to nothing, but the Lord’s purpose will stand; it will be established — not our will but His will be done. How comforting it is to know that even if our best laid plans cave in, the Lord will sit unmoved on His throne forever, totally in control.
