The summer is always a difficult time for MBC with many people - TopicsExpress

The summer is always a difficult time for MBC with many people away and so, in line with previous years, we are curtailing activities after half term. In particular, we are very sad to announce that we are cancelling the Wind Orchestra taster on June 28 due to the untimely death of Jean Kelsey who was going to lead the session. We are hoping to find someone to lead a session the autumn. Do contact us if you know of somebody with skills in leading such a group (woodwind and/or brass, etc) We will be developing plans to restart various activities in September with a focus on preparing for performance opportunities. So some dates for your diary: October 4: There will be a Tea with MBC which is organised with Friends of Exning School November 8: To supplement the Exning Enlistment Re-enactment (exning.net/eer.html) we are planning a World War I evening. After the 4th Family Night of Entertainment last year we had decided that the particular format had run its course and the WWI evening will fit in with other events for the Exning Community that weekend. The format is still being planned but will probably start with a Sing a Long of World War I songs to reflect the enthusiasm of those volunteering to join the war effort --- but that will be followed by a change of mood to reflect the conditions and losses experienced. This might give opportunities for various musical items by MBC groups (e.g. flutes, ensemble, handbells, choir etc) perhaps with various poems and readings. If youd be interested in helping to plan the event do let us know
