The time is once again almost upon us where the butterflies start and the stupid grins start getting plastered on our faces in anticipation of another Gathering of old friends and family as well as welcoming with open arms new members to our little, well maybe not so little anymore, community. This year I am proud to say that the Prosperity Ritual will actually be celebrating its 10th anniversary. For those who are unaware it is a card tournament where the proceeds from the entry fees go to charity. Since our arrival at the Knoll the money has been donated to the Eganville food bank to help local families stay fed and healthy. Prior to the Knoll proceeds have been donated to cancer research and our first donation went to a community member who had lost their home in a fire. It has been tradition for me to go around to the various wonderful vendors who attend with their wares and ask for some small donation for a prize pool for the participants. In the past we have had many generous donations and great prizes to award including a silver goblet, various jewellery and clothing, and even a replica katana. This year I am asking in advance for the vendors to consider if they wish to donate and if so what they feel they can afford to give away. This is completely voluntary and it need not be extravagant but if you would like donate please send me a PM with your name and business name so that I can compile a list to be posted after KG for the proper recognition that you deserve.
