The underground railway system is a status symbol. Any country - TopicsExpress

The underground railway system is a status symbol. Any country with an underground rail line is rich, prosperous and progressive people. The US, UK, Germany, France, Canada, Japan, and China, to mention just a few, all have an underground railway system. However, in the United Kingdom, where there are four ethnic groups: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, only England has a well funded and functioning underground railway system. The others have not a single underground railway system in their area save one heavy rail underground metro line in Scotland, never expanded since 1896. Of the four ethnic groups of the United Kingdom, England has the highest population and the most productive. The English, therefore, uses the wealth and resources generated within England to develop the area far better than Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. And in the case of Nigeria, the Yoruba region has the highest population in the country and also the most productive region of Nigeria. But its wealth and resources have been employed in funding development in the North and Iboland since 1966 when regionalism was suspended by the Ibo and Hausa/Fulani. Today, the Yoruba region is the poorest region in Nigeria. This is because it contributes N49.00 of every N100.00 that goes into the Federation Account but receives less than N10.00 of every N100.00 the Federal Government shares as monthly allocations. Whereas, the Hausa/Fulani, contributing only N1.00 of every N100.00 into the Federation Account, receives more than N60.00 of every N100.00 shares by the Federal Government every month as monthly allocations. The Hausa/Fulani region is, consequently, the richest part of Nigeria. Yoruba people are like slaves and Hausa/Fulani people are like kings in Nigeria. This is the case because for 50 years, Hausa/Fulani held political power and usurped to themselves more states, local governments, wards, senatorial districts and a fictitious population figure. They then established a unitary system of government where all the revenues collected from every region of Nigeria are taken to Abuja and then shared based on the number of states, local governments, wards, senatorial districts and population figure. The 50-year of the Gambari presidency did not favour the Yoruba. It rendered the Yoruba poor and miserable. In the absence of Fashola as the APC Presidential candidate... four more years for President Jonathan. Adeyinka Grandson #ThinkYorubaFirst
