The upcoming Mayor’s Holiday Party for Children, an annual tradition for many Arlington families, will feature music, storytelling and sweet treats to celebrate the Christmas season. The free event, designed for children in kindergarten to fourth grade and their families, is scheduled from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Dec. 6 in the community room of the George W. Hawkes Central Library, 101 E. Abram St. in downtown Arlington. During the annual party, Arlington Mayor Robert Cluck will read a special holiday story and provide treats for participants. Other activities include an appearance by Read the Bookworm library mascot, a Christmas musical revue by the Creative Theater & School (CATS) and an educational introduction to the orchestra by Symphony Arlington.
