The was a july 4 1977 Lewes Little League game Braves versus Pirates MY son jack was playing centerfold for the Pirates.his twin brother Tom was catching earlier in the season Ruby Dog went from our house on Second Street to the canal then into centerfield to greet jack. and then she arched her back and did the dog nasty. Today the National Guard would show up or she was be flamed out by a drone strike. Someone with a shovel called time sprinted to center scoped the poop then threatened to throw it at centerfield tailgaters. A good time was had by some. But on the 4th 1987 Braves manager Eddie Shepard broke new territory when he launched bottle rocket fireballs into the outfield. Players scattered and I found myself saying I just had to find this town it was my destiny.
