The weather is finally after months of wind and rain going to settle down. Forecast courtesy of M.T. Cranium over at the boards.ie Sunday, 9 March, 2014 Forecasts for Ireland TODAY ... Outbreaks of light rain will remain largely confined to west and north until late afternoon and evening, and will also weaken further, so that amounts may only be 3-7 mm at most. Parts of the southeast could have a few brighter intervals. Highs 8-10 C north and west, to 12-13 C southeast. TONIGHT ... Drizzle ending, foggy at times, then turning rather cold with partial clearing towards morning. Lows -1 to +3 C. MONDAY ... Partly to mostly sunny, frosty morning lows near -2 C then a pleasant afternoon 8-11 C. TUESDAY ... Hazy sunshine, milder. Morning lows -2 to +2 C and afternoon highs 10-13 C. WEDNESDAY to FRIDAY will bring even warmer daytime temperatures. The nights will stay rather chilly but that will dissipate rapidly after sunrise. Highs could reach 13-15 C and possibly a bit higher in areas well inland from the south or east coasts as winds will be light southeasterly. Fog patches or mist in the early morning, may be persistent near some coasts Dublin to Cork. FURTHER OUTLOOK ... Cloudy but remaining rather mild on the following weekend with the increasing risk of showers or light rain through Monday 17th, highs 10-13 C. Somewhat colder after that, in fact some of the longer-term guidance shows wintry shower potential by about the 24th.
