The winter is approaching, but our children are living in open - TopicsExpress

The winter is approaching, but our children are living in open tents with nothing to keep them warm. The government has not even provided medicines and other facilities in the camps, said Naseer, a riot survivor. Sehzad and his wife, both tailors, wanted an adequate rehabilitation package from the government. Shehzad said, It took us years to build our shop from savings and we had also purchased three sewing machines. The rioters burnt down our house and shop. The loss is more than Rs 10 lakh. We now have to start life afresh but the compensation amount is inadequate. Naseem Ahmad, a survivor from Phugana village, said, The government should provide us a house along with job. The government is rubbing salt in our wounds by giving Rs five lakh rehabilitation package while asking us to declare on affidavit that we will not go back to our native villages and forego claim on ancestral property. articles.timesofindia.indiatimes/2013-11-13/india/44028573_1_muzaffarnagar-riots-cbi-probe-rihai-manch
