The writers of the Constitution, which the right wing fawns over, were mostly in the pocket of big, east coast banks, all of which owned Revolutionary War Bonds, purchased for pennies on the dollar but which were rendered worthless by the Articles of Confederation. The Constitution was little more than a TARP style bailout. To claim otherwise is the braying of lunatics. Plus slavery and women. From the beginning it stifled freedoms, empowered petty politicians and slowly sucked the life out of American enterprise. Hey! Obamacare is constitutional. Period. So, WTF! Might as well shred the whole goddamn thing, right? I’d be in favor of amending the First Amendment to keep corporations from trying to influence elections if it might keep the New York Times Corporation and the incessant noise machines called “unions” from ever saying another thing. Take your peace and quiet when you can get it, I say!
