There Can Be No Greater Friend {Than JESUS} Theres a man I met so long ago That people think they know Theyve seen amazing things hes done Things that readily do show They recognize his genius Applied in all of his pursuits His brilliance is apparent To the people he recruits They recognize his conviction In everything he says and does His commitment to his endeavors Brings forth what there never was They recognize his eloquence His words he carefully will frame When he says all that he has to say People are never quite the same They recognize his mastery In the physical domain His grace and his agility Despite age do still remain They recognize his sense of humor His spirit loves to play He can see the lighter side of life Even on a cloudy day They recognize his vision For what the world can really be He contributes never ceasing To the world community Without question I acknowledge All the things that others see But let me tell you what you may not know What a friend hes been to me He has demonstrated patience That the world did not observe He has shown endless compassion In my support hed always serve When Ive stumbled and Ive fallen He has offered me his hand When I faced my darkest hours Right beside me he would stand When Ive wallowed in confusion He has challenged me to rise When Ive had my greatest victories Ive seen great pride within his eyes He has called on me in times of trial When he might not have thought he should He has allowed me to contribute When I never thought he would He has shared his deepest secrets Has revealed his very soul He has trusted me with everything Theres nothing that he would withhold He joins me in a vision Of what we offer to the world As we work toward its fulfillment An unforeseen future is unfurled He makes a contribution To my life thats limitless He makes a contribution That mere words cannot express I love him without condition From this day until the end I will be what he has been for me For there can be no greater friend.
