There are champions. And there are LEGENDS. For several weeks now - TopicsExpress

There are champions. And there are LEGENDS. For several weeks now Ive had the idea in my head of taking some special photos with Leigh Adams. Last month (June 6) marked an anniversary of sorts and it passed by quietly and with little fanfare despite its enormous overall significance. At the Finke desert race in June 2011 Leighs life, and that of his family, changed forever when he crashed in practice and suffered severe spinal injuries. These days hes, ironically, on wheels more than he ever was when he raced, though the wheelchair he spends his time in has never diminished the inner shine of a man who deserves more than the mantle of champion, but more so that of LEGEND. This is a man who exudes class. Who gives back. Who is an example. A legend. Yesterday we photographed a few father-son moments with his son Declyn Adams while proud Mum Kylie and daughter Casey watched on. Later today I hope to share a couple of those. For now though, I want to shine the spotlight back on Leigh. Hes a God in Poland. In sleepy little Mildura hes just Leigh. To me, and thousands of speedway fans worldwide hes a superstar rider and PERSON. Yesterday he put something on that he hadnt in a long time. Been a while since youve put a helmet on Dad, said son Declyn. That moment wasnt lost on me. It wasnt lost on my camera. And I hope its not lost on you as you look closely at the photo and those that follow.
