There are many times that I say to myself, why am I doing this - TopicsExpress

There are many times that I say to myself, why am I doing this ministry?...this is not one of those times. I was called to CCU this morning. The patient was an 87 year old woman that didnt have much time left on this earth. As I walked in the room I noticed a man sitting over by the window with his head buried in his hands. He kept whispering, Its to late, its just to late!. I sat down next to him and asked what or who is to late? Tears streaming down his face, he began to tell me how badly he had treated his mom. Its to late to say or do anything now! She cant hear me can she?. I said Actually, Ive been told that the hearing is the last function of the body to stop working. He asked me if I would go to the bedside with him. I did. I watched as he leaned over and gently kissed her forehead. He whispered, Mom?, I love you...Im so very sorry...please forgive me...I do love you. His sister was standing on the other side and smiled ear to ear. She said, Mammas going to heaven! (Here is my open door!) How do you know that? The son told of how Godly she was. I asked him,Will you see her again? Oh, its to late for me preacher, he said. Sir, I said, you have used that phrase a lot tonight. Im here to tell you its never too late. The next few moments I shared the saving gospel to one who thought he was useless, wasted, unable to save, and I watched him bow his head and ask the Lord Jesus Christ into his heart! Friend, its never too late for you to have a living, lasting, and loving relationship with Jesus Christ! One day with Christ, is far greater than 50 wasted years! Another divine appointment!
