There are now only three more weeks until the little bookshop closes its doors. This afternoon is the start of the 50% off sale. So if you have been thinking you might need some books to get through this winter, now is definitely the time to pay a visit. This sale applies to everything in the shop, not just the great books. On the counter is all the early-1900s French sewing things - buttons, embroidery threads, needles, lacemaking bobbins, sewing patterns etc etc. In the window are the antique American quilts, two unused from the1940s, the others from the early-1900s. Absolutely beautiful for use or to hang. There are lovely English china jelly moulds, French wire cake racks & Australian Hoffman bowls. Is it too early to start thinking about Christmas presents? That is something I will really miss - Christmas in the little bookshop. Im sure Ill have withdrawal symptoms in December... Please take advantage of this discount; it is a way of saying thank you for your support. As I have said before, I have had the best time, met so many lovely people, had such wonderful book conversations & really enjoyed being a part of the Portland community, while operating the little bookshop.
