There are three phases of life. The first is when you believe in Santa. Or you choose to do that despite all counter evidence. All the candy tastes better, sweeter and more delicious knowing a fat man in a red dress gave it just for you. Next comes the phase when you stop believing in Santa. This is the time when you go to shops and ogle at ice-creams and candies and all the delicacies. How you bubble and froth at the sight of a plum pudding or an apple tart, how you dance at the prospect of eating a cheese cake and how you know for sure that those chocolates are worth the extra money. This is the part where you put on weight. But the most important is the third part. The part where you realise that real beauty lies in watching the dough rise in the oven, in looking at the raisins shift uneasily in the fresh cake you just prepared, in imagining a dish before its plated and basking in the glory of how it looks prettier than you thought it would be, in telling people you love them with some extra creme and a cherry on top.
