There is a special hell for people who prey on the elderly and infirm. Special. Hell. So far the grifters have emptied Pops bank accounts to the tune of $15,000 and run up about as much in credit card debt, including a $6000 cash advance. Also, when Daughter found out about the bank fraud and took Pop over there to change the account information they didnt have her sign the new paperwork giving her control over it if he was declared incompetent or infirm, so now we have to wait until he recovers or...doesnt. At any rate, as soon as the grifters found out the till had dried up at the bank they broke into his house and stole the electronics and a freezer that was on the back porch. Proof? Wish we had some. The credit cards are easy enough to take care of, when we called them and told them they werent getting their money they were all too happy to cancel the accounts and start fraud investigations. Maybe that will go somewhere. As far as the bank and break ins go...we can make reports so the sheriffs office can start investigations but without clear evidence there is not much we can do otherwise. The first thing I will do when I get back is look up a lawyer. I will NOT put my kids through this, especially not Eldest Daughter who has had to bear the majority of the burden for Pop.
