There is an increasing evidence supporting the biopsychosocial model of pain rather than the biomechanical model. Yet many schools are still teaching the latter model without or with little consideration of environmental and psychological factors that contribute to pain. Thank you Diane Jacobs and Alice Sanvito for the interviews. Perhaps we could initially educate the public better about pain. Commentary: As a health and science writer, I see a lot of stories about drug treatments on various diseases, yet very little results in helping the public in understanding certain issues, such as non-drug treatment, self-care, and preventative care. Since this is a pretty bright and critical group, what do you think I could do to as a writer and journalist? guardianlv/2014/04/pain-is-it-mostly-in-the-brain-video/
