There is none holy as the Lord: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God. 1 SAMUEL 2:2 In pursuing God in holy worship, I need to be very clear about something. You cannot worship Him as you will. The One who made you to worship also has decreed how you shall worship Him. God does not accept just any kind of worship. God has rejected all the worship of mankind in our present condition. Although God wants us to worship Him, and He commands us to and invites us to come, He condemns and rejects all the worship of mankind. At least four kinds of worship are prevalent on the earth today, and God rejects them all: Cain’s worship, Samaritan worship, pagan worship and nature worship. Abel offered unto God the sacrifice of blood, while Cain came with a bloodless sacrifice and offered to the Lord flowers and the fruit and the growth of the earth. This worship rested upon a mistaken impression of the kind of God He is. Cain came to worship a God of his own imagination. God accepts worship only when it is pure and acceptable by the Holy Ghost.
