There is this amazing girl that plays ball at RCYS with my kids. She has special needs and is developmentally delayed but she loves to play ball. She is in Tre and Karleighs division. We played against them this Saturday and when this young lady came up to bat she hit it towards 3rd base and one of the kids on my team scooped it up easily and could have made the throw to get her out with ease. He didnt. He held on to that ball until she made it to 1st base safely. That child just so happened to be my 13 year old son. He wanted her to make it to 1st base to see that smile on her face. I was approached by coaches and parents about how classy that was of him.....and then her mom came to me. She said her daughter had been having a bad day and was really down. With people in the stands yelling to throw the ball!!! He still did what was right in his heart. Proud doesnt even describe it. You, son, never cease to amaze me :)
