There was an op-ed in the Washington Post today bemoaning Social Security and Medicare, stating we can not afford to keep coddling our seniors. I do not receive Social Security, not having paid into it very long. But my wife did and she collects. BUT we would happily allow the federal government to give her back the $68,000 she paid into the plan and call it even, no interest even. The Government was supposed to make the money grow, instead it uses what is paid in to finance every democrat social plan that comes along, so the system has no money. Who do they blame? The people who did pay into the plan and now collect.
