These are photos of Detroit from my hotel window on the 53 floor - TopicsExpress

These are photos of Detroit from my hotel window on the 53 floor of the Marriott Renaissance Hotel where I spent the past three days and two nights. I didnt see any more of Motown except for the court house and the drive into and out of the city. The life of the expert witness testifying at a trial....is like that of being an anesthesia lecturer. It looks more glamorous than it really turns out to be. There is lots of travel and some very brief sight-seeing during the drive if you dont blink too often. However, it is mostly lots of work in the hotel and attorneys office to prepare for your testimony. Like always, I am reminded, I enjoy being home more than ever. I later plan to write a piece for my anesthesia students and graduates to the effect of Things I learned to do and teach....due as heeding the lessons of practitioners that either met or failed to meet the Standard of Care in anesthesia. My students will remember my quoting: Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it. George Santayana
