These posts have been floating around as of late, added by FB friends who are irate and astounded that our president would do such a thing. I love the hypocrisy here, don’t you? When Bush turned attention from bin Laden in the Bora Bora Mountains of Afghanistan to invade and occupy Iraq, they were silent with the exception of calling anyone who opposed the invasion anti-American and treasonous. Unlike a progressive who will oppose their president and speak out, the regressive party sings a different, off-key tune. They had no problem with accepting whatever was told to them as necessary and as God’s Law…do not speak against their leader in a time of war. Now, well, now they suddenly have questions about bombing a “bad guy.” They claim that “Liberals” don’t have the nads to speak out against “their president.” But the reality is…they are wrong. They won’t ever hear the truth on Fox News. They’ll listen to bullshit artists like Hannity and O’Reilly spew twisted opinions that Obama is wrong to not seek the advice of congress, and when Obama does seek that advice, they call him weak. Are the tea-bagger republicans truly that snowed they don’t recall what was told to them the week before or during the Bush years? Fox is even calling on the so-called “experts” who designed the failed invasion of Iraq that was supposed to be done in less than “six months” (Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, to U.S. troops in Aviano, Italy: "It is unknowable how long that conflict will last. It could last six days, six weeks. I doubt six months."), and cost the nation no more than “$1.7 billion,” (Andrew Naistos-2003: “the American part of this will be 1.7 billion. We have no plans for any further-on funding for this.”) the rest coming from Iraqi oil. Shame on those who are hypocrits! I wrote Obama a letter opposing any action against Syria. I reminded him of the many needs we have here at home. I insisted that we should not be the lead here, but let another of the globes 196 countries take the ball and shoot. We progressives speak out. Why didn’t you?
