Theyre back! Local music duo Gatling & Hoffpauir will be at The Coffee Cup this Friday from 6-9pm. Gatling and Hoffpauir have been together for over seventeen years. This dynamic duo has made numerous live television and radio appearances. They are accomplished singer songwriters and veteran musicians. David Hoffpauir was born and raised in Austin Texas, where his mother taught him to play guitar at an early age. He played and toured with the popular fusion band Freefall, in the eighties. David has played with several different types of bands over the years. He has his own style of Texas music and has studied such great guitarist as: Pat Martino and Howard Roberts. Connie Gatling began playing professionally in Virginia at the age of nineteen. She hit the road at the age of twenty two and has toured all over the country, including Washington D.C., North Carolina, Nashville TN., Santa Fe N.M., Colorado, Hawaii, and California, where she opened for guitarist Chris Proctor. Connie recorded her first album of original songs Another Place, Another Time in 1990. Connie and David joined forces in 1996. They have opened for several quality acts such as Willis Alan Ramsey, Shake Russell, Jack Saunders, and Eliza Gilkyson. The duo has recorded three CDs of original music. Payin Our Dues, One More Angel, and Wintertime in New Mexico. They have a unique sound with beautiful harmonies and intriguing guitar parts. There music is soulful, heartfelt and unforgettable.
