Thief made Saviour Once Imam Nasir-ud-deen fell sick and - TopicsExpress

Thief made Saviour Once Imam Nasir-ud-deen fell sick and slipped into a coma. His relatives and friends thought him to be dead and buried him. When he regained consciousness at night he found himself buried. Shocked and deeply disturbed he suddenly remembered that whoever recites Surah Yaseen forty times while in a difficult situation has Allah (SWA) remove his difficulty from him and the constriction is replaced with expanse. So he started reciting Surah Yaseen and had recited it thirty-nine times when he began to feel the expanse. This was due to a shroud thief digging his grave with the intention of stealing his shroud. The Imam realized that it was a shroud thief and so when he began reciting it for the fortieth time he lowered his voice so as not to alert the thief that the person in the grave was in fact alive, in case that made the thief abandon his plan and leave him buried. By the time he had finished the recitation the shroud thief had also finished digging. The Imam got up and left the grave. When the thief saw this he died of shock on the spot. The Imam was saddened by his death and reproached himself for having rushed to leave the grave. He told himself that he should have allowed the thief to steal the shroud and leave before he left the grave. Feeling guilty he thought that the people of the city would likewise be shocked and fearful on suddenly seeing him. So on returning that night to the city he called out by the gate of every neighborhood that he passed, “This is Imam Nasir. You people mistook me for dead when I was in a coma and buried me. I am alive.” - [Fawaid-al-Fawad]
