Things I learned this year: 1. You are much stronger than you think. 2. Open your eyes and notice the smallest of things, for they will give you the most pleasure. 3. Smile, it is your best accessory and looks fabulous with any outfit. It also has this amazing positive affect on others. Try it. Daily. 4. People do not have to be nice to you. You can still be nice to them. 5. Kindness leaves a lasting impression that is never forgotten. 6. Celebrate your health everyday, for it in itself is reason to celebrate. 7. You have no idea how much you love your life, until it might be taken away. 8. It really is small stuff. The little annoyances in life truly will not matter. 9. Your family is everything. 10. You are never to old to be silly. 11. When your favorite song comes on the radio, stop what your doing and dance! 12. Your children are the meaning of life. 13. True friends never go away, and are always needed. 14. My husband simply amazes me everyday. I never knew one could love that much. 15. When you are sick, no one can comfort or console you like your Mom and Dad. I am so truly grateful they are alive and we are so close. 16. The Lords Prayer. I cannot count the times I have recited these precious words this past year, but they have brought me the blessing of peace when I needed it most; in my hosptial bed, during my radiation, after my chemo treatment, through my CAT and PET scans, and in the hospital and doctors office. 17. You truly do get smarter with age. Respect your elders and listen to what they say, they are the masters of this thing we call life. 18. Laughter nutures your soul. Laugh, laugh, and laugh some more. 19. Do not give up on the human race. There are wonderful, kind, and honest people out there. I have met so many helpful, unselfish, lovely souls. I really did not know existed until I became sick. Strangers so willing to help. It Brings tears of pride to my eyes. 20. You can make true, good, and loving friends on Facebook. I am so thankful I have developed these friendships. You have given me more strength and encouragement then you will ever know. Thank you. Happy New Year!
