Things you may not know about me: 1. Born 6 weeks early, supposedly by bursting out of my poor mothers scar-bound womb (due to a bad uterine infection that had supposedly left her unable to carry another child). Weighed less than 5lbs. at 20 in. and did not cry aloud for a couple of weeks due to underdeveloped vocal cords. Mom said that it sounded like a faint kittens mew til I was 1 month old. 2. Have slept in the bed that Mom was born in (and my daughter was born in) since I was about 5. It is my favorite material possession. 3. I am a damn yankee who craves a good hoagie and NY or Pennsylvanian accent now and then. 4. Have always had a Dr. Doolittle complex. I can talk to the animals... 5. Have only been in love once. 6. I have a degree in advertising from UGA as well as my degree in early childhood ed. 7. I was a Peabody Awards preliminary judge and convinced my two professors to put Anne of Green Gables on their list. It went on to win! I met Charles Kuralt, Jim Henson and Chevy Chase on the trip to NYC to the Awards ceremony. 8. I got to play on NPRs Mountain Stage because Michael Stipe kindly sent them our cd. I Met Iris DeMent and Ramblin Jack Elliot. I recently found out that an Australian band recorded my Dolly Did Ya in 2008. There ya go!
