Thinking about the late 1950s. John F. Kennedy won the election to become President. Marilyn Monroe was at her peak of success. Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valence and the Big Bopper were climbing the charts as well as Elvis Presley. Men still wore crew cut hair styles. We were the greatest nation on earth. People still respected the President. Congress had honest hard working people in office. We said the Lords Prayer and the pledge of Allegiance in school. Children said yes maam and yes sir to their elders. We werent involved in Vietnam. Just look how far weve come today. Camelot is dead along with everything else I mentioned. It makes me think that maybe the British should have won the war of Independence. I believe if our founding forefathers could see America today, they certainly would have worded the Constitution of the United States much more carefully so that it couldnt have become so perverted and twisted as it today.
